Day Twenty-Nine of "31 Days of Love": Doing Chores Lovingly and Ungrudgingly

Today, I did household chores cheerfully and ungrudgingly.

A lot of times when I come home, I get a lot of crap for not cleaning up after myself, never doing the dishes, laundry, etc, so today, I did the dishes twice and also helped with the laundry

After lunch, I didn't wait till I was told to do dishes by my sister. I didn't even let her do it. I got right to it the second I was done eating.

I've generally fixed this bad habit of mine in recent months I think. And although this is a pretty small act of love, my sister affirmed me by saying "Hey thanks for doing the dishes." And I know my mom will appreciate it when she doesn't come home to a bunch of dirty dishes.

When my mom did come home and asked me to take care of the laundry, I did it without a complaint, but with a willing and appreciative heart.

Also, after dinner (which my mom made), I did the dishes once more while my mom chilled, feet on the coffee table, watching the Lakers game.

Lastly, when my sister asked me to take her trash down, I happily obliged.

I think showing love goes hand in hand with showing appreciation. So today I appreciated my mom and sister, who feed me and take care of me, by doing the dishes and laundry :)

Challenge: Do your common household "chores" with a loving and willing heart. Show your parents/siblings love by bearing the load cheerfully. Who doesn't love a cheerful giver/server?
