Day Nine of "31 Days of Love": Helped a Woman Find Her Way at the Mall

Today I was at the Del Amo Mall back home around the Torrance area.

I was there with a few friends and (similar to yesterday) I was wandering around while my friends were shopping. I guess good things come to those who wander.

So anyway, out of nowhere comes this lady and her kid. They were black, which has nothing to do with the act of love, but has everything to do with painting a picture of the situation.

She asked me very nicely, "Excuse me, where's that AMC theater?"

I couldn't remember so I asked my friend Crystal to help us out. Crystal gave the lady directions. Unfortunately, the directions required several turns and winding through various parts of the mall, and though it was just a short distance away from where we were, I could tell the lady was REALLY confused.

But after Crystal explained it to her, it clicked in my head visually. The lady tried to process all those directions but looked pretty overwhelmed.

That's when I said to her, "Why don't I walk you over there and maybe help get you on your way?"

She kindly accepted and we started walking towards her destination.

She said her name was Trineesha (I have no idea how to spell her name) and she was from Long Beach. It had been a while since she had visited this particular mall so her getting lost was very understandable. We made some small talk. The whole time we were walking there, her kid was looking up at me in a very curious way.

I must have taken her about halfway before I gave her the rest of the directions and sent her on her way. She said thank you.

That was my act of kindness for today. Helping an out-of-towner stranger find there way in a big mall.
