Day Seven of "31 Days of Love": Treating My Friend Jacob to Dinner (AND A VERY SPECIAL UPDATE ON BOOKER!)

Day Seven! It's already been one week!

Today was pretty EPIC. There's a reason I'm posting this so late!

So I was a little bit concerned because I had yet to come across an opportunity to show love in any significant way.

It was 9:46pm when I received a call from my friend Jacob. He said he wanted to visit me. Though he gave me no future notice, I was gracious and told him to come on over and gave him some mighty fine directions.

This was my act of love for today.

Epic, right?
...

April Fools!

So we went to Chipotle where I got him a delicious and humongous burrito dinner.

We had some great great great conversation. We caught up and talked about life and all the amazing things God is doing in our respective lives.

Turns out God has been blessing him a lot too. I shared with him all the things I've been learning and experiencing as a result of 1 week of "31 Days of Love".

It was a spectacular, spontaneous, and blessed time. The following are pictures of Jacob getting excited, then Jacob taking a rather glorious first bite.

SPECIAL UPDATE!

I wasn't planning on blogging about this but I thought I'd include a short update on Booker, the 2nd homeless guy I met on the first day.

So on the way back, I spotted Booker! He was in the same spot as last time! We hit a red light on McClintock so I jumped out of the car and ran over to Booker, and brought him over to Jacobs car.

I was so happy to see him and catch up with him. In case you didn't know, last week God used me to provide just enough money for him to make rent. He was very so happy that he had a place to call his own. He said he was still out asking for money on the streets because he needed some money to buy groceries.

It was about 11pm by this time and he hadn't eaten since breakfast (poor guy!). He said he'd need about ten bucks, and I had no cash on me at the time so Jacob was able to give him how much he needed.

We prayed for him, shared Matthew 6:25-30 with him, and sent him on his way.

It was awesome! He was so excited to be able to get groceries from Ralphs (he said they are having a major sale) and cook for the first time on his own stove top oven! He was genuinely very excited and couldn't wait to go home. Really cute.

So long story short, Booker is no longer homeless!!!!! He's got a home! God is good!

Prayer Request:
Booker asked for prayers for him to be able to get a job so that he would be able to get a job and be able to stand on his own two feet. Please pray for the guy! He doesn't want to beg for money! He wants a good honest job!
