Hearing God's Voice Audibly: an Awesome Testimony

I wanted to share something with anyone who wants to hear/read an amazing testimony.

Click "Listen" or "Download" and follow along with the text of the testimony. John Piper shares about his experience on March 19th, 2007 when God spoke to him clearly and audibly.

It's a pretty insane thing to be able to actually HEAR God's voice and I am intrigued by Piper's description of it:

"There was not the slightest doubt in my mind that these were the very words of God. In this very moment. At this very place in the twenty-first century, 2007, God was speaking to me with absolute authority and self-evidencing reality. I paused to let this sink in. There was a sweetness about it. Time seemed to matter little. God was near. He had me in his sights. He had something to say to me. When God draws near, hurry ceases. Time slows down. "

Wow. How I long to experience something like THAT.

To add to my amazement, God recently spoke audibly to my sister Angela.

Althought I did not get a chance to hear about it from her directly, my other sister did and she recounted the experience to me. It happened at a revival where healings were breaking out among the congregation and where the presence of the Lord was very strong.

My sister, who for the past few years has been very gradually more inclined towards God. I remember she was a staunch atheist back in high school but as time passed, she became very gradually more open to faith. She had come closer and closer to submitting to God completely and accepting the Lord Jesus in recent months and it all culminated in an amazing way in early June.

At that revival, she prayed intensely, asking God to help her to have faith. She expressed to Him a strong and undeniable desire to know God and to really surrender to Him. While she prayed this to Him, God spoke to her in her thoughts.

She says that it was so audible that she almost thought that it was someone behind her speaking to her. God said to her something to the effect of, "You have already found me. All you have to do is follow"

I am pretty envious but mostly just so happy for her that God called His lost sheep to Him and that my sister is now saved.

God is so good :)
