College Acceptances and The Month of March

My goodness it has been 19 days since I have last written an entry.

I guess a lot of things have happened since then. I wrote about getting accepted to USC, and since then, I have been even more blessed. For some reason, I have not been rejected to any schools yet. Still waiting on NYU but all the UC's that I applied to (la, sd, irvine, berkeley) have accepted me, as well as Boston College. God must really expect me to do a lot for his kingdom.

Additionally, I have received a fair amount of scholarship money from UCLA, which would probably make it the cheapest option out of all my schools. My dad really wants me to go to the best school I get in to (which would be Berkeley), but I'm really not sure anymore. I had an interview with the UCLA Alumni Association this past Saturday for a scholarship (which, by the way, I just found out I received) and they really sold UCLA to me. So now I'm reconsidering all my options...

It's pretty much down to USC, UCLA, and Berkeley for me now. A very difficult choice, but a blessed struggle nonetheless.

Anyway, that's enough about college.

An update on some other things now. Here are some highlights of the month of March:

1) Korea vs Japan WBC Finals Game with my sister:
This was alot of fun. A very refreshing and enjoyable break from the usual. Had tons of fun despite Korea losing.

2) Small Group:
The group, which includes my friends Luke, Andrew, and Nathan is really going well. We meet pretty much every Wednesday and have great discussions. We usually start off with some opening prayer, then each of us goes around and talks about the past week and how it has been. This past week we started something pretty nifty as well. Our plan is to have a rotation of each person preparing a discussion topic or devotional every week. This past week I had the opportunity to present and I talked about how we need to glorify God in everything that we do. I used chapter 8 (Glorifying God from 8 to 5) out of my Friday bible study book entitled "Don't Waste Your Life" to talk about the mindset that witnesses need to be in. It seemed to be very convicting for the group and it definitely has been good for me to think about these things. Hopefully, Nathan brings something really awesome this week :D

3) Work:
I have now worked three shifts at Hollister. I am starting to become more secure about working there. Although I did see some people I did not want to see and did get laughed at on Saturday, I am starting to not care so much about what other people may think about me. I'm just making some money and working. I am getting over that whole initial image-conscious part hahah. But my bosses are all pretty nice and helpful in getting me acclimated to my job. I am starting to meet other workers there and have gotten a little bit friendlier and more comfortable too. Which is all very good. I really hope that despite how tiring and boring and monotonous the work is, I can still be a good witness by working hard and being a loving and courteous coworker and employee :]

4) WPCA Talent Show:
This is coming up in a few days. I have not practiced as much as I would have liked to yet, and neither has Andrew. We really need to get on the ball with this. I hope the turnout is good and most of all, I hope our piece turns out really good. Maybe if we do very well, the judges will be impressed and we'll come out in the Top 3. I think we are capable but we seriously need more practice.

5) KIWIN'S Talent Show:
We are doing a dance routine at D-Con this year for the Talent Show. I made the mix as requested by Rachel, and she has choreographed a really awesome piece. However, Andrew, Donald, Stacy, Elica, Yuki, and I are not dancers. Nor are we very agile, flexible, or confident. So it's going to take a lot of practice, especially since we don't have much time. But I'm really going to work hard on it, so as not to dissapoint Rachel, but also because I really don't want to look like a fool in front of hundreds of people hahhah.

Also, it's been an interesting month for me spiritually and also relationally (is that a word?). Spiritually it has been somewhat of a rollercoaster. Catching up with friends, hearing things about old friends, and getting to know some people has been very interesting to say the least. I really am motivated to be a better witness and have been praying quite a bit for a more loving and caring heart for friends. Some of them really need that kind of thing I think. Hopefully, God will really use me in an instrumental and big way to help some people out.

Anyway, that's been my month for the most part. It's been fun I guess you could say. Time is definitely flying. Already heading into April! April will no doubt be a big month. Plenty of things to look forward to. More about that in my next entry possibly.

Until then, enjoy this hilarious video:

UC BERKELEY FTW!! haas or not, graduating from berkeley will make you that much more of a competitive candidate when you're applying for grad schools later.
